A word or 2 about late starts Staring your ceremony later than
our scheduled start time tends to mess up my day! (And I don't
need the stress!) Due to the number of couples not being all that concerned
about starting on time, we've had to institute a late penalty fee of $100! Yep,
that figure is 100 smackers due before I continue with your ceremony! If you are
over 30 minutes late, you will be incurring the late fee, and it's quite
possible that I may have to reschedule your ceremony if you are later than that.
If I have another wedding to perform on your date, the other couple will expect
me to be on time, and I hate to be forced to rush around between appointments!
I always allow plenty of time to take into account unforeseen issues, and you being 10 or 15 minutes late is to be expected. But I can guarantee that I'll be on time...and have been for over 3000 weddings.... so I think you should be as well. Late guest arrivals are not grounds to delay your ceremony. My time is important to me, and I would hope to receive the same courtesy that you would give anyone you have an appointment with, especially an important one like your wedding! So, if your need is to "kinda more or less" start when you get around to it, please save us all the stress and find yourselves a wedding officiant who doesn't mind this sort of thing. This one does!
