The "Ocean Drum" Blessing

With our 22" Ocean Drum, why have just a hum-drumless wedding ceremony? This drum is awesome! With our brief, nature based blessing, we can have you, your kids, your wedding party, significant friends or family members.. or anyone you choose perform a painless and fun opening to your beach wedding, and as each participant receives the drum, he or she creates the sound of the rolling surf, and with each passing the participant recites a blessing from a different aspect of nature. But since Mother Ocean is our hostess, we honor her by including the sounds of the sea!

Here is the blessing to be repeated by each participant (or by the whole group in unison) after the officiant:

The blessing of the Earth, symbolized by the beach sand that we stand upon, recognizes and blesses this union.

The blessing of the Sun, symbolized by it's energy on our skin, brilliant and warming, recognizes and blesses this union.

The blessing of the Water, symbolized by the waves breaking before us, recognizes and blesses this union.

The blessing of the Air, symbolized by the sea breezes, crisp with the breath of life, recognizes and blesses this union.

The drum is then returned to the officiant, and we begin your wedding ceremony! Simple!

The Fish Graphic Ocean Drum comes with one clear Mylar head and one head printed with a realistic ocean sea-scape of tropical fish. It is an incredibly versatile instrument. You can play this drum several ways for multiple sounds. You can create the sounds of the waves breaking on the shore, you can shake it like a shaker and you can beat it like a shaman drum. To create the ocean sounds, hold the Ocean Drum by the frame, with the heads horizontal like a serving tray. The roll your wrists so the drum gently tilts in all directions. The metal beads inside will roll over the bottom head like water rolling over the shore. Try different speeds for different sounds. Stop and start suddenly to create crashing wave sounds. Hold it over your head, with the clear head on the bottom and look up at the rolling beads; you can imagine yourself under water.
